A woman in her 20s has died while skydiving in Georgina, a town about 60 kilometres north of Toronto.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. ET Saturday near the Baldwin Airport, according to York Regional Police.

It appears the woman suffered catastrophic equipment failure, police say.

The victim was an experienced skydiver, police add.

No other details have been released.

Last year, a man in his 40s was also killed while skydiving in the same area.
