Finance minister meets in Toronto with private-sector economists

Finance Minister Joe Oliver is meeting this morning with private-sector economists in Toronto.
Oliver plans to take media questions following the meeting. CBC will carry the media event LIVE starting 11 a.m. ET..
The Harper government has begun announcing tax goodies for Canadians leading up to a 2015 election.
So far, there has been a cut in unemployment insurance premiums for small businesses and an enhancement of the child fitness tax benefit.
Oliver has predicted a budget surplus by next year.
